Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I choose SUM REAP International Bible College?

A. SUM REAP has a passion to train future ministry leaders by equipping them to actively do the work of the ministry. We take pride in having our students work directly with experienced leaders who desire to disciple and mentor students for ministry rather than offering ministry "as one of many electives" to choose from, like several large colleges do. Its our mandate to provide you with weekly practical ministry application.

Q. Is this accredited education?

A. SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary is nationally accredited by the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), the oldest Bible college accreditation agency, specializing in biblical ministry formation and professional leadership education. It is officially recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the U.S. Department of Education.

It is also one of the eight regional associations that make up the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE), representing North America. ABHE provides the best option for maintaining high academic standards while also sharing the Christian faith.

Q. Is financial aid available?

A. Yes. We encourage students to apply for financial aid immediately. We are committed to providing students with information about resources that will help them obtain maximum aid. Eligibility for grants, loans, and scholarships is dependent upon completion of the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). For more information please visit our financial aid page. Bachelor courses are offered for $280 per credit hour and the Masters' rate is $240 per credit hour. We offer block rate billing for full-time BA students and also a payment plan for students in the graduate program.

Q. What is a practicum?

A. The ministry "practicums" are designed for undergraduate students to experience hands-on ministry training. This provides life experience and knowledge essential to leading with excellence. Experienced ministry partners lead each practicum, allowing the students to implement the principles taught in the classroom first-hand. You will have the opportunity to choose practicums that best fit your ministry goals, however, several specific practicums are required for all students.

Q. What is the school schedule and when are classes offered?

A. We operate on a trimester system (Fall, Winter, and Spring). You have the option of starting classes at the beginning of any trimester. Please view our calendar for specific dates for our upcoming trimester. The majority of our classes are offered all day Monday, and often requires one additional class on Tuesday. This gives you the freedom to not have to spend all week attending classes.

Q. Is there academic assistance?

A. Yes. Tutors will be made available for undergraduate students who need additional assistance. Grades and assignments are monitored by both the class instructor and your Cohort Director at REAP International Bible College. Students also have Study Hall time as well.
